THE EVENT
Event 2: 12th April 2008
Newport Velodrome
Future Revolution is a new event developed out of the hugely successful Revolution Series. The Future Revolution has all the attributes of the main Revolution but is geared towards juniors acting as a stepping stone to the racing at the main Revolution and potential progression into the national squad.
The event will take place across two days at the Newport Velodrome providing an exciting mix of racing for boys and girls. The programme will be designed to test the riders to their limits as well as providing crucial development in team skills. Races will include team and individual sprint events as well as plenty of endurance action with feature Revolution events thrown in to enhance the excitement.
The Best British junior riders will line up to take on their international rivals with riders racing for team points as well as individual glory.
In a similar style to the Future Stars at Revolution, national teams will race for overall glory with riders accumulating points in each race. Teams can enter up to 10 riders so the advantage will be with the larger squads.
Race Programme
The race programme wil be designed to provide exciting action packed racing as well as help the riders develop their skills. Races will include:

1km Madison Time Trial
Derny Racing

Future Stars
Many of the British junior riders will go on to compete in the Future Stars racing at the main Revolution so the Future Revolution will provide a perfect taster and identify the favourites for the overall Future Stars competition.
the ‘Future Stars’ competition has often provided more action and drama than the elite events and has provided invaluable experience for some of Britain’s most promising new talent. At 15 and 16 years of age the future stars riders are at the perfect stage to benefit from the racing environment at Revolution. Riders such as Ian Stannard, Ben Swift and Andy Tennant have all moved into British Cycling’s Olympic Academy following success in the ‘Future Stars’ with numerous other riders now part of the Olympic Development programme.
The Future Revolution will now link in perfectly with the competition and further develop young cycling talent in the UK.
